Our Mission
The Florida Keys Vacation Association (FKVA) is deeply committed to furthering the development of both professional and traditional vacation rentals. We understand that these services can offer a safe and reliable option for consumers, which is why we are working closely with policymakers to develop fair, balanced regulations that uphold the interests of both communities and owners/managers of vacation rentals.
In order to improve relations between vacation rental owners/managers and local communities, we strive to preemptively address any issues pertaining to the vacation rental industry. To do this, we set clear priorities that are aimed at mediating any potential problems before they arise. In addition, we also take it upon ourselves to use our influence in the City Council chambers in order to ensure that any legislation passed related to vacation rentals is fair and balanced. Furthermore, our representatives work hard to make sure that local businesses are not adversely affected by any regulation changes or enforcement efforts.
At FKVA, we believe that it is only through pro-active policy measures and initiatives put in place by public officials – combined with the cooperation of owners/managers – can help strengthen relationships between those in the industry and local communities where their services are utilized. As such, our organization continues its effort of creating dialogue between stakeholders so as to identify potential issues, find solutions, and share best practices regarding safety protocols and other matters related to vacation rentals.
